Among the many hotel loyalty programs, Hyatt is my favorite. As a transfer partner of Chase Ultimate Rewards, the points are fairly easy to earn. Additionally, you can earn Hyatt points directly with the World of Hyatt Card issued by Chase.

Hyatt’s footprint isn’t huge, but with the addition of Small Luxury Hotels (SLH), there are now independent boutique hotels in 80 countries that can be booked with Hyatt points. The fun part is finding luxury Hyatt hotels – SLH and Park Hyatt properties – that can be booked with 15,000 points.

One of my favorite features of World of Hyatt program is the ability to earn a free night certificate that can be redeemed at category 1-4 hotels. There are a few ways to earn a free night certificate including:

  • The annual free night certificate that comes with the World of Hyatt Card
  • Staying with five different Hyatt brands
  • Staying 30 nights in a calendar year at Hyatt properties
  • Spending $15,000 in a calendar year on the World of Hyatt Card

All World of Hyatt members, including the basic level (Discoverist), receive the following benefits at the Small Luxury Hotels of the World properties:

  • Complimentary Wi-Fi
  • Daily Complimentary Continental Breakfast for two guests
  • Room Upgrade (one category at check-in if available)
  • Early check-in (noon, based upon availability at check-in)
  • Late check-out (2:00pm, based upon availability at check-in)
  • Earn Hyatt points for paid stays

You will also earn stay credits for your SLH nights – even if booked with Hyatt points. Free nights expire after one year so keep an eye on those expiration dates.

Let’s look at category 1-4 luxury hotels that are bookable with either 15,000 Hyatt points – or less, or with a free night certificate. I’ve compiled a list of Park Hyatt properties, Hyatt’s top luxury brand, and select Small Luxury Hotels of the World that will give you an opportunity to experience luxury at some unique properties.

A word of caution, however, this list will make you want to drop everything and book a getaway to one (or more) of these amazing hotels ASAP.
