The Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Credit Card seems to be stuck in the middle of the other Southwest® personal credit card products, making it somewhat redundant.

It has a slightly higher annual fee than the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card with very similar perks. The only advantage of the Premier over the Plus is the 6,000 anniversary points bonus as opposed to the Plus card’s 3,000 point bonus, and it earns 3X points on Southwest purchases over the Plus card’s 2X points. But at that point you might as well consider grabbing the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card, which has a $229 annual fee but comes with other perks and a higher annual cardholder bonus.
