The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless falls back to earth due to the recent expiration of the incredible 5 free night offer. Still a decent grab, but most people would benefit by waiting to see if a higher one comes along.
Though we still penalize this card a bit in our rankings due to the restrictions that have been placed on Bonvoy cards issued by both Chase and American Express.
These restrictions basically make getting the Bonvoy Boundless card somewhat obsolete, as you can get a virtually identical offer from American Express that does not disqualify you from also getting the Bonvoy Business card from American Express.
You can use these points to book award nights at hundreds of Marriott properties or transfer them to more than a dozen airline programs.
This card also gives you an annual free night on your account anniversary each year, able to be used at any Marriott hotel that costs up to 35,000 points per night. Which covers most Marriott properties in their portfolio and makes the card worth keeping indefinitely for many people.
Personally, I just used this benefit to book a free night at the Houston Airport Marriott for my recent trip to Japan. A savings of about $120.
And finally, the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Credit Card offers 6x points per $1 spent at any Marriott property and 2x points per $1 on everything else. Making it a decent choice for everyday spend for anyone looking to earn points to be used with the more than one dozen airline transfer partners of Marriott.
You also are not eligible to receive this bonus if you have received a bonus on the Bonvoy Brilliant or American Express Bonvoy Business Card in the past 24 months
