The daughter of a million miler, Carly was born into the points and miles hobby and has been amassing frequent flier miles since the age of 2. It wasn’t until much more recently that she learned to use them, but she hasn’t slowed down since, visiting all 50 U.S. states and all seven continents while working remotely as a financial journalist.
As much as she loves international travel, Carly is even more passionate about domestic U.S. travel. Favorite destinations include Chicago (her hometown), Portland, OR (her current home), Las Vegas, the Carolinas, and any city in the Midwest that can be described as “making a comeback.” No matter where she’s going, she primarily flies economy, and before you ask—yes, it’s by choice.
Carly chronicles her travels, as well as the points and miles strategies behind them, on her blog, 52 Cities, and on her Instagram account.
When not traveling, Carly prefers watching pro hockey to nearly everything. She also plays the Irish fiddle.
Six nights in an overwater bungalow at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, booked using Hilton Honors points and one AmEx free weekend night certificate.
