Meet Megan

Megan grew up traveling the world as an expat kid and has called New York City home for over a decade. She supports her travel habit with a career in non-profit fundraising, specializing in helping others find the strategic information they need to solicit and close transformative gifts.  In other words she gets paid to Google and and hunt down information, skills that also serve her well in points and miles.  Megan got into points and miles as a teenager flying between her school in the US and her parents’ home in Tokyo, she had status with two airlines before she had her driver’s license

Favorite Redemption

Last March, on a snowy New York Saturday, I was watching Netflix and absentmindedly running award searches. I stumbled on a Qatar business class award space from MLE to JFK on AA.com for 70K for February 2020. Knowing that was a hard route to snag, I grabbed it. I then built a two week trip to Sri Lanka and the Maldives around that flight. Including three nights at the Conrad Maldives (two Hilton Amex free nights, plus 95K for one night) and redeeming 85K UA miles to fly from JFK to CMB in business class on Eva and Thai Airways.
