Headquartered at Cairo International Airport, EgyptAir is the flag carrier of the African nation of Egypt and a member of Star Alliance. The airline operates the majority of its routes between Egypt and Europe. However, EgyptAir does operate a few routes between Cairo and North America. And, if you plan on taking a long-haul flight between North America and Egypt, it may be worth it to book in business class.

In general, EgyptAir business class isn’t considered to be one of the top business-products in the airline industry. And cash prices for long-haul EgyptAir flights can be rather high. So, if you still want to make your EgyptAir journey as comfortable as possible while keeping your out-of-pocket costs low, you should consider booking an EgyptAir business-class flight with points or miles.

Since EgyptAir is a member of Star Alliance, there are a few partner frequent flyer programs through which you can book EgyptAir business-class award flights. The amenities and experience offered in EgyptAir business-class depend on the type of aircraft you’re flying on as well as the length of your flight. The Airbus A350-900 began in February 2026 and includes 30 business class suites with direct aisle access.

After that, you have all of the other aircraft in the EgyptAir fleet, which are used for medium- and short-haul flights. The business-class product on these aircraft is relatively unimpressive and is essentially the same as economy class with more legroom and improved dining and beverage options.

For the purposes of this article, we’ll focus mostly on the experiences and amenities offered in business class on long-haul EgyptAir flights.

As mentioned above, the business-class product on EgyptAir Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft features 18-inch personal entertainment screens and complimentary Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, there have been many users who have reported that these features were slow or entirely unavailable during their long-haul EgyptAir flight.

Business-class passengers on long-haul EgyptAir flights can choose from one of several main course options, which might include dishes like grilled beef with creamy mushroom sauce, grilled chicken with rosemary demi-glace sauce, grilled shrimp with lemon butter sauce or vegetarian farfel pasta. You’ll also receive an appetizer, salad and a dessert and a selection of cheeses to follow your meal.

EgyptAir is a dry airline, meaning that they don’t serve alcoholic beverages on board. However, business-class passengers will be able to choose from a selection of non-alcoholic beverages, including hot chocolate, cappuccinos, lattes, soft drinks, fresh juices and more.

Business-class passengers on EgyptAir long-haul flights will also receive an amenity kit contained in a stylish branded bag. This amenity kit is actually fairly extensive compared to business-class amenity kits from other airlines and includes an eye shade, socks, lip balm, a shoehorn, a wooden hairbrush, hand sanitizer, a branded pen, a toothbrush, toothpaste and earplugs.

All passengers on long-haul EgyptAir flights will also receive a pillow and blanket. According to most consumer reports, the pillow and blanket provided are fairly basic and not particularly comfortable.

And, of course, your EgyptAir business-class experience will start before you even board your flight. Business-class passengers are entitled to priority treatment at the airport, including priority check-in, priority baggage handling, priority boarding and more.

This makes it very easy to earn Aeroplan points if you have a credit card from one of the aforementioned issuers.

Avianca LifeMiles

Another great program through which to book EgyptAir business-class award flights is the Avianca LifeMiles program. Just like Air Canada Aeroplan, this program uses a series of fixed award charts to price EgyptAir award flights, so you should be able to find EgyptAir awards that offer outsized value per mile through this program.

For instance, we found a round-trip EgyptAir business-class award itinerary between New York (JFK) and Cairo (CAI) for 160,000 miles and about $104 in taxes and fees.

In general, the overall consensus among travel enthusiasts is that EgyptAir’s business-class product is rather lackluster and doesn’t justify the high cash prices charged for these tickets.

While EgyptAir business class does include certain premium amenities (such as lie-flat seats, complimentary meals, amenity kits, airport lounge access and more), there are many aspects of this business-class product that fail to impress. Entertainment systems and Wi-Fi often don’t work on these flights, the meal service doesn’t include Egyptian cuisine, the food often isn’t very fresh, the bedding you’ll receive is very basic and EgyptAir doesn’t serve alcoholic beverages onboard.

Nonetheless, if you’re planning a trip to Egypt on EgyptAir, flying in business class is still preferable to economy class. And the best way to get into EgyptAir business class while keeping your out-of-pocket costs low is to book with points and miles.

In terms of booking Egypt Air business-class award flights, your two best options are typically the Air Canada Aeroplan program and Avianca LifeMiles program. Technically, you can also book these awards through the EgyptAir Plus frequent flyer program as well as the GOL Smiles program. However, these programs don’t allow transfers from credit card rewards programs and are also very difficult to use.

Luckily, both Aeroplan and LifeMiles price EgyptAir award flights according to fixed award charts. This means that you should be able to find outsized value (exceeding 1 cent per mile) on these redemptions.
