Bilt has unveiled a bold expansion of its credit card lineup with the launch of three new cards—Bilt Blue Card, Bilt Obsidian Card and Bilt Palladium Card—that signal a clear shift from a rent-only rewards platform to a broader lifestyle and homeownership membership program. This major update, known as “Bilt 2.0,” introduces a dual-currency model with traditional Bilt Points and a brand-new rewards currency, Bilt Cash, which earns 4% back on every dollar spent across all three cards. Starting February 6th, 2026, members will be able to activate the cards, with pre-orders running through January 30th.

One of the most notable changes is how members earn points on rent and mortgage payments. Instead of earning points automatically, rewards are now tied to overall card usage. Members must earn and spend Bilt Cash to unlock points on their housing payments, effectively replacing the old milestone program. Each $30 in Bilt Cash earns 1,000 points on rent or mortgage payments, allowing users to earn up to 1X on their monthly housing expenses—still with no transaction fees. Bilt also eliminated the 100,000-point annual cap and added new capabilities like multi-property support, larger payments over $10,000, and a separate line for housing transactions that auto-pays within 24 hours.

What Is Bilt Cash and How Does It Work?

Bilt Cash is a new, flexible rewards currency separate from Bilt Points. You’ll earn 4% back in Bilt Cash on all spending across the new cards. Here’s what you can do with it:

  • Redeem for statement credits across pharmacies, rideshares, groceries, and hotels
  • Unlock housing points: Every $30 redeemed earns 1,000 points on rent or mortgage payments
  • Access exclusive transfer bonuses and experiences

To earn housing points with no transaction fee you will need to spend 75% of your housing costs on the Bilt card you choose.

Housing CostsNon-Housing Spend
$1000$750
$2000$1500
$3000$2250
$4000$3000
$5000$3750

Importantly, there’s no redemption minimum. Bilt Cash expires at year’s end, and only up to $100 rolls over annually, plus any card-specific annual bonuses reset.

Our Take

While this relaunch is innovative and positions Bilt more as a lifestyle platform than just a rent rewards company, most of the new cards won’t appeal to points and miles enthusiasts chasing outsized value. The core issue lies in the opportunity cost. You now need to spend at least $1,500/month on your Bilt card just to earn the full 1X on a $2,000 rent or mortgage—spend that could instead go toward meeting minimums for large welcome bonuses elsewhere. Each $30 of Bilt Cash (earned at 4%) only nets you 1,000 points on your housing payment. That’s a steep cost for relatively low return.

Of the three cards, the Palladium Card stands out. It comes with a strong welcome offer, nearly breakeven $495 fee after credits, 2X on all purchases, and elite benefits like lounge access and hotel status. It’s competitive with cards like the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card and Chase Sapphire Reserve® when factoring in point flexibility. The Obsidian and Blue cards may work for members deeply embedded in the Bilt ecosystem, but for travelers aiming to maximize every dollar toward high-value redemptions, the numbers don’t add up. Unless you’re in it for the broader “membership” lifestyle play, these are niche cards in a competitive landscape.
