As part of a recent partnership between Bilt Rewards and World of Hyatt, Bilt members can now register to enroll in World of Hyatt Explorist status for 90 days. By doing so, you’ll also have the opportunity to keep Explorist status or even unlock Globalist status. The offer becomes available on March 28 and expires on April 1, so it’s important to act quickly if you want to take advantage of this valuable offer.
This offer comes in addition to the other benefits offered by Bilt on April Rent Day, including double points earnings on non-rent expenses, a raffle with prizes as high as $2,500 and the ability to bring a friend free-of-charge to a class at one of 59 participating SoulCycle locations.
If you aren’t a Bilt member, it’s worth signing up for the program simply to get a complimentary 90-day World of Hyatt Explorist status trial. Explorist status comes with a range of valuable perks, including:
- 5X base points per dollar spent plus a 20% bonus on eligible purchases, from stays to spas to dining
- Room upgrades (subject to availability), from corner rooms to rooms with views, excluding suites
- Complimentary premium internet and bottled water
- Expedited check-in and 2 p.m. late checkout (both subject to availability)
- Guaranteed availability within 72 hours
Then, if you complete 10 qualifying nights at World of Hyatt properties during the “challenge period,” you’ll retain your Explorist status through February 2025. Plus, if you complete 20 qualifying nights during the “challenge period,” you’ll earn Globalist status through February 2025, which comes with the following benefits:
- 5 base points per dollar spent plus a 30% bonus on eligible purchases, from stays to spas to dining
- Room upgrades (subject to availability), including standard suites
- Club lounge access or complimentary breakfast
- Expedited check-in and 4 p.m. late checkout (both subject to availability)
- Guaranteed availability within 48 hours
- Guest of Honor to share your in-hotel benefits when you gift a free night
Let’s take a closer look at this outstanding April Rent Day offer and the other offers available to Bilt members on April 1.
Complimentary World of Hyatt Explorist Status Trial
To receive the complimentary 90-day World of Hyatt Explorist status trial, you must be a member of Bilt Rewards. Now, that doesn’t necessarily mean you have to have a Bilt-issued credit card. You can sign up for Bilt Rewards for free in a matter of minutes, and you’ll never be charged any fees for having an account. You simply have to go to BiltRewards.com and enter some basic information. Then, you’ll be eligible to receive the complimentary 90-day World of Hyatt Explorist status trial.
If you aren’t familiar with Bilt, you can also use this account to earn points on rent if you live in one of Bilt’s more than 2 million affiliated rental properties. All you have to do is search your address through the Bilt app to see if your rental property is eligible. Then you can either pay your rent to your landlord via an electronic funds transfer through the Bilt app or you can even have Bilt send a check to your landlord. Either way, you’ll earn points on rent.
However, even if you aren’t interested in earning points on rent or your rental property isn’t a Bilt affiliate, you should still sign up for the Bilt Rewards program if you’re interested in automatic World of Hyatt Explorist status. To do so, you’ll need to be a member of both Bilt Rewards and World of Hyatt. Then, you’ll need to link your World of Hyatt account to your Bilt Rewards account under the “Travel” tab in the Bilt app.
Then, between 8 a.m. on March 28 and 11:59 p.m. on April 1, you can choose “Unlock World of Hyatt Elite Status” under the “Rent Day” tab on the Bilt app. If you do so, you’ll receive confirmation by April 17 of your World of Hyatt Explorist status and enjoy all the amazing benefits of Explorist status for 90 days between April 17 and July 16, which is known as the “challenge period.”
If you complete 10 qualifying nights during the challenge period, you’ll retain your Explorist status through February 2025. If you complete 20 qualifying nights during the challenge period, you’ll be upgraded to Globalist status and retain that status through February 2025.
This is an incredibly valuable offer considering that World of Hyatt members would normally have to complete 30 qualifying nights per calendar year to earn Explorist status and 60 nights per calendar year to earn Globalist status. With this offer, you can enjoy all the benefits of Explorist status without ever having stepped inside a Hyatt property.
Plus, if you’re planning on traveling between April 17 and July 16, you can book stays at Hyatt properties and retain your Explorist status through February 2025 and possibly even upgrade to Globalist status. That means you can reach World of Hyatt’s top-tier elite status by completing just 20 qualifying nights during the challenge period.
Exclusive Social Events
In celebration of this partnership, Bilt will be holding member-only social events at Hyatt properties at several locations in the United States. These events will all take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time on Rent Day (April 1). Attendees will be able to experience Bilt’s favorite Hyatt hotels, talk to Bilt’s staff about the Bilt Reward program and even receive $10 off their tab. Here are the three locations of these exclusive social events:
- Hyatt Regency in Sonoma, California (Sonoma Cafe)
- Grayson Hotel in New York (Bar Cima)
- Hyatt Centric Buckhead in Atlanta (Three Arches)
All Bilt members who live in the greater geographic areas of the events will receive emails in the days leading up to the events with a link to RSVP.
Other April Rent Day Benefits
Bilt is also continuing to offer several Rent Day benefits outside of its partnership with World of Hyatt, the most notable being the ability to earn double points in certain categories all day if you have the Bilt Rewards Mastercard®.
Double Points on Rent Day
On April 1, Bilt Rewards Mastercard cardholders can earn double points across non-rent categories, including the following:
- 6X points on dining (regularly 3X points)
- 4X points on travel (regularly 2X points)
- 2X points on all other spending, excluding rent (regularly 1X points)
Cardholders will receive these double earnings on purchases made on April 1 from 12 a.m. Eastern Time to 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time. Cardholders will receive double earnings up to 10,000 points (which would require you to spend a minimum of about $1,667 to hit that threshold). The Bilt Mastercard will still earn 1X points when used to pay rent on April 1.
It’s worth noting that Bilt Mastercard cardholders must use their card five times each statement period to earn any points. So, if you need to hit that five-charge minimum, you might as well earn as many points as you can while doing so by using your card on Rent Day and earning double points.
Rent Day Challenge: Win a Month of Rent
Another fun (and potentially valuable) benefit that Bilt offers on Rent Day is the ability to enter a raffle for a chance to have your rent paid (up to $2,500) for a month. To enter, you’ll need to solve the riddle in the Bilt app on April 1 and submit your answer to https://biltrewards.tfaforms.net/f/rentdaychallenge.
Three winners will be selected randomly to have their rent paid for the month of April, up to $2,500 per winner. The winners will be announced on April 3 and the raffle is open to both Bilt members and Bilt non-members.
You can also follow Bilt Rewards on Instagram for extra clues to solve the riddle.
Complimentary SoulCycle Class for a Friend
On April 1, you can book a class at one of 59 participating SoulCycle locations and receive a complimentary bike for a friend. To book a class and take advantage of this benefit, you can go to SoulCycle.com, the SoulCycle app or the Bilt Rewards app.
One lucky attendee and their guest will also receive a month of rent paid by Bilt.
The Bottom Line
If you plan on traveling between April 17 and July 16 and you think you might stay at a Hyatt hotel even just once, it’s worth signing up for the Bilt Rewards program and receiving complimentary World of Hyatt Explorist status.
This elite status tier comes with plenty of valuable perks, including bonus points earnings, early check-in and late checkout (subject to availability), room upgrades (subject to availability) and complimentary premium internet. All you have to do to get those perks is be a member of both Bilt Rewards and World of Hyatt and then press a few buttons in the Bilt app between March 28 and April 1.
Beyond April Rent Day, Bilt Rewards is definitely a program that should be on your radar. For most people, rent is one of the largest expense categories. Bilt allows you to earn 1X points (up to 50,000 points annually) for paying your rent with the Bilt Mastercard (which has no annual fee). And, even if you don’t want to sign up for the Bilt Mastercard, you can still join the Bilt Rewards program and earn 1X points (up to 3,000 annually) for paying your rent through the Bilt app.
So, at the very least, it’s worth looking into whether you can earn points on rent by paying through the Bilt app, and even if you can’t, it’s still worth signing up for the Bilt Rewards program so that you can get a complimentary 90-day trial for World of Hyatt Explorist status. There’s no charge, it’ll only take a matter of minutes and it might significantly improve your stay at a Hyatt location between April 17 and July 16.
