Having been a member of Star Alliance since 2013, EVA Air is one of the two largest Taiwanese airlines with an extensive route network throughout Asia. However, many U.S.-based travelers probably haven’t traveled with EVA Air. Nonetheless, even if you’ve never flown on EVA Air (or you don’t ever plan on flying with EVA Air in the future, it may be worth paying attention to EVA Air’s frequent flyer program, the Infinity MileageLands program.
For one, the EVA Air Infinity MileageLands program allows you to add two free stopovers per long-haul round-trip ticket on Star Alliance award flights.
Plus, the EVA Air Infinity MileageLands program is a transfer partner of both the Capital One Rewards and the Citi ThankYou Rewards programs, which makes accumulating EVA miles fairly easy. Just remember that Capital One Miles transfer at a 2:1.5 ratio, which means that this typically isn’t a very good way to use Capital One Miles.
One of the greatest advantages of the EVA Air Infinity MileageLands program is that it uses fixed, region-based award charts to price its own award flights as well as Star Alliance partner award flights. This means that you can find outsized value redemptions (which offer more than 1 cent per mile in value) for certain award flights.
To help you in this process, we’ve included all of the award charts for the EVA Air Infinity MileageLands program in the following sections.
Infinity MileageLands Award Charts for Flight Awards with EVA Air and UNI Air
Of course, through the Infinity MileageLands program, members can redeem miles for award flights on EVA Air as well as UNI Air (a subsidiary of EVA Air). These flights are priced according to the following region-based award chart:
Flight route | Economy Class | Business Class | Laurel Class/Royal Laurel Class |
---|---|---|---|
Taiwan - Hong Kong/Macau | 20,000 | N/A | 50,000 |
Within Asia (includes Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and Mainland China, Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia) | 35,000 | 40,000 | 50,000 |
Between Asia and Oceania | 100,000 | N/A | 150,000 |
Between Asia and America (excluding Chicago, New York, Houston and Toronto) | 100,000 | 110,000 | 150,000 |
Between Asia and America (including Chicago, New York, Houston and Toronto) | 110,000 | 120,000 | 160,000 |
Between Asia and Europe | 100,000 | 110,000 | 150,000 |
*The only exception to the chart above is that round-trip domestic (within Taiwan) award flights operated by UNI Air cost 13,500 in economy class. Only economy class is available on these flights.
The award rates listed in the chart above are for round-trip flights on EVA Air and UNI Air. If you wish to know the price of a one-way award flight on either of these airlines, you can simply divide the applicable rate from the chart above in half.
While you can add one free stopover on EVA Air or UNI long-haul round-trip award flights, no stopovers are allowed on one-way award flights or short-haul round-trip award flights. The turnaround point and stopover cannot be the same as the origin or destination nation.

The Bottom Line
If you have a Capital One Rewards or Citi ThankYou Rewards credit card or if you fly to Taiwan often, then the EVA Air Infinity MileageLands program may be worth your while. Citi ThankYou Points transfer to the Infinity MileageLands program at a 1:1 ratio whereas Capital One Miles transfer at a 2:1.5 ratio. This means that EVA miles are fairly easy to earn.
Plus, since EVA Air is a member of Star Alliance, Infinity MileageLands members can earn miles by flying on any Star Alliance airline (including Air Canada and United Airlines). However, you’re probably better off crediting Star Alliance flights to other Star Alliance frequent flyer programs such as Air Canada Aeroplan, Avianca LifeMiles or Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer, which all tend to offer more value than the EVA Air Infinity MileageLands program.
Nonetheless, your’s may be one of the cases where the Infinity MileageLands program offers the best rate for a specific award flight. To help you get acclimated to how this program’s award charts work, we’ve included them all in this article.
