How to Sign Up for MGM Club Membership
Joining the MGM Rewards program is free and easy, and it immediately grants you Sapphire status—the program’s entry-level status tier. You can sign up online, in person or through the MGM Rewards app.

MGM Status Tiers

Keep in mind that the tier status earning year runs on a different timeline than the tier status year.
The tier status earning year runs from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31 of the year. In contrast, the tier status year runs from Feb. 1 to Jan. 31 of every year.
When you reach the required number of tier credits to receive a given level of status, you’ll receive your tier status immediately and it will be valid until the end of the following tier status year.
For instance, if you earned Pearl status in October 2025, you’d retain it through Jan. 31, 2027.

Sapphire Status
MGM Sapphire status is the first tier of MGM status and is earned as soon as you sign up for the rewards program.

The next step on the MGM tier status ladder after Sapphire is Pearl status. If you earn anywhere between 20,000 and 74,999 tier credits within a tier status earning year, you’ll receive Pearl status.

MGM Rewards points are the program’s rewards currency. They can be used for hotel stays, dining, entertainment, spa services and unique experiences like MGM Moments.
For Sapphire members, your MGM Rewards points will expire after six months of inactivity. For Pearl members and above, your MGM Rewards points will never expire.
Gaming Revenue Points
One of the primary ways to earn MGM Rewards points is through gaming in MGM casinos. Here’s an overview of the ways you can earn MGM Rewards points through gaming:

- MGM Rewards World Elite Mastercard spending: You’ll earn 3X points per dollar spent at MGM, 2X points per dollar spent at gas stations and supermarkets and 1X points on all other purchases.

Here are some of the top ways to maximize your MGM membership and squeeze the most value out of your Rewards points.
Best Ways to Use MGM Rewards
Whether you redeem your points for gaming activities—such as Slot Dollars—or for non-gaming activities, such as hotel stays, you’ll receive a fixed value of 1 cent per point.
You can redeem your MGM Rewards points for award nights at premium resorts such as Bellagio, ARIA and Mandalay Bay, among many others. Booking directly through MGM will ensure access to the lowest rates and waived resort fees for Gold tier members and above.
You can also use your points for fine-dining experiences, such as at celebrity chef restaurants or shows like Cirque du Soleil, Blue Man Group and more.
You can charge these expenses to your room and then use your points to offset this expenditure at the end of your trip.
Once you hit qualifying thresholds at the Gold, Platinum and Noir level, don’t forget to use your annual tier celebration credits, between $100 and $500 in value, for dining, rooms or other MGM resort experiences.
You can also use your points to pay for MGM Moments. The MGM Rewards program is packed full of special offers and promotions for its members.
Daily tier status accelerators allow you to earn bonus tier credits by reaching daily milestones during your stay in Las Vegas.
Similarly, MGM Rewards Members receive 100 Gift Points for every Slot Dollar earned playing slots, video poker machines or video lottery terminals. You’ll also earn Gift Points for table games based on game type, average bet and duration of play. You can then redeem your Gift Points for jewelry, electronics, sporting goods, handbags, housewares and FreePlay during the Holiday Gift Shoppe season.
If you like to cruise, you should keep your eyes open for special MGM offers such as double onboard FreePlay or enhanced onboard credit when booking select sailings through partner cruise lines. Keep in mind that status matching only works from MGM Rewards to Marriott Bonvoy and not the other way round.

One of the best perks of this partnership is the annual cruise benefit available for Gold tier members and higher. Here’s a breakdown of how the annual cruise benefit varies based on your status tier:
- Gold members can receive up to five nights in an oceanview stateroom for two people or a trade-in value of $750.
- Platinum members can receive up to seven nights in a balcony room for two people or a trade-in value of $1,500.
