We always love when a new card comes to the market. You don’t have to worry about if you’ve had this card before, or if you closed it in the last two to four years because its brand new.
New cards provide a great opportunity to earn more bonus points, and today we’re happy to announce a new card: The World of Hyatt Business Credit Card.
The World of Hyatt Business Credit Card is a new card from Chase, let’s take a look at the details.

The World of Hyatt Business Credit Card Bonus Offer
The new World of Hyatt Business Card offers a generous welcome that varies from time to time.
You’ll find a modest annual fee of $199, in between the typical $95 annual fee and the higher fee found on premium cards. The card comes with a number of benefits in exchange for the annual fee.
Card Benefits
Earn More Bonus Points
One of the benefits to help you earn more World of Hyatt points is the adaptive accelerator. The adaptive accelerator rewards cardmembers with 2X points per $1 spent on their top three spending categories each quarter through December 31st, 2022. Beyond that, you’ll earn 2X points in your top two categories with no cap on the amount of bonus points you can earn.
Categories eligible for the adaptive accelerator include the following:
- Dining
- Airline tickets purchased directly with the airline
- Car rental agencies
- Local transit and commuting
- Gas Stations
- Internet, cable and phone services
- Social media and search engine advertising
- Shipping
World of Hyatt Business Card Category Bonuses
In addition to the adaptive accelerator, the World of Hyatt Business Card has a few fixed categories where you can earn bonus points.
As expected, one of those categories is all money you spend on Hyatt stays and experiences. You can earn a bonus of 4X bonus points per $1 spent at Hyatt hotels and resorts, including participating restaurants and spas. This is in addition to whatever points you earn as a World of Hyatt Elite member. Base members earn 5X base points per eligible $1 spent, meaning you can earn up to 9X World of Hyatt points per dollar spent at Hyatt hotels and resorts.
Cardmembers will also earn 2X bonus points per dollar spent for fitness club and gym memberships.
All other purchases will earn 1 point per dollar.

World of Hyatt Status Benefits
World of Hyatt Business Card holders are eligible for perks to help them achieve higher status.
For starters, you’ll automatically earn Discoverist status in the World of Hyatt program. You can earn 5 tier-qualifying night credits for every $10,000 spent on the card in a calendar year.
Status Level | Tier Qualifying Nights | Spend Needed |
Discoverist | 10 | n/a - complimentary as a card holder |
Explorist | 30 | $60,000 |
Globalist | 60 | $120,000 |
Earning Discoverist status by having the card doesn’t grant you 10 tier qualifying nights, so you’d still need to earn 30 to move up to Explorist and 60 for Globalist. You can automatically earn Explorist status by spending $60,000 on the card in a calendar year, and Globalist by spending $120,000 on the card in a calendar year. Keep in mind that the number of tier qualifying nights needed are cut in half for 2021, so you’d have to spend half that amount to earn the respective tier status this year.
Hyatt Credits
Another benefit of the World of Hyatt Business Card is the opportunity to earn $100 in Hyatt credits each anniversary year. You’ll receive a $50 statement credit up to two times when you spend $50 or more at any Hyatt property.
Additional Card Benefits
There’s a few other benefits that you’ll receive as a card holder.
- Gift Discoverist status to up to 5 employees
- No fee for employee business cards
- No foreign transaction fees
- Complimentary roadside dispatch
- Primary rental car collision damage waiver
- Extended warranty protection
- Purchase protection
- Trip cancellation/travel interruption insurance
- Travel and emergency assistance services
- Access to Hyatt leverage, Hyatt’s business travel program offering special rates to qualifying small and mid-sized business at participating hotels worldwide

Our Take
Many people may find this card to be a bit underwhelming, and for good reason. Chase did a good job of making this a good card for businesses with employees who stay at Hyatt hotels routinely for work.
There aren’t a ton of additional benefits to the card, but those who stay at Hyatt hotels routinely can take advantage of the $50 statement credits and Discoverist status for a few more perks during their stay.
The ability to earn 2X Hyatt points on a number of categories also means that the card will appeal to many business owners.
Most business owners who aren’t loyal to Hyatt will likely be better served with one of the varieties of the Ink business cards. For the same amount of spend you can earn Chase Ultimate Rewards which give you the benefit of flexibility rather than having your points fixed to Hyatt. Especially once you consider you’ll still need to be under 5/24 to be eligible for this card.
Final Thoughts
Chase’s new card, The World of Hyatt Business Credit Card is a good option for business owners frequently staying at Hyatt hotels. With the ability to earn extra bonus points and statement credits, it will appeal to those seeking more rewards for their loyal business to Hyatt.
