While Saudia may be unfamiliar to many U.S.-based travelers, it’s the flag carrier of Saudi Arabia and one of the largest airlines that operates out of the Middle East. And, in an era when many frequent flyer programs are switching over to dynamic pricing models to price their award flights, the Saudia AlFursan Miles rewards program continues to price their award flights and upgrade awards using a series of region-based award charts.
Because the Saudia AlFursan Miles program uses fixed award charts rather than a dynamic pricing model to price its awards, it’s still possible to find redemptions through this program that offer outsized value, exceeding 1 cent per mile. By contrast, when you redeem miles through a frequent flyer program that uses dynamic pricing, you’ll pretty much always get a value of about 1 cent per mile.
Unfortunately, earning Saudia miles is fairly difficult for U.S. citizens, as the AlFursan miles program isn’t a transfer partner of any of the major U.S. transferable credit card rewards programs. However, Saudia is a member of SkyTeam Alliance, which means that you can earn Saudia miles by crediting flights on any SkyTeam airline to the AlFursan program. If you live in the U.S. though, you’re probably better off crediting your SkyTeam flights to Delta SkyMiles (or maybe Aeromexico Rewards) than to Saudia AlFursan Miles.
Nonetheless, if you do have an interest in the Saudia AlFursan Miles program, it pays to be familiar with this program’s award charts. We’re going to list all of the Saudia AlFursan Miles award charts, including award charts for Saudia flights, SkyTeam partner flights and flight upgrades.
AlFursan Miles Award Chart for Flights on Saudia
Of course, AlFursan Miles members can redeem their miles for flights operated by Saudia, both domestic (within Saudi Arabia) and international. This program offers two types of award tickets: Reward and Reward+. Reward tickets require fewer miles but have less availability and so are harder to find. Reward+ tickets, on the other hand, have greater availability but require more miles.
It’s worth noting that, while both Economy and Business class award seats can be booked at either Reward or Reward+ rates, First-class award seats can only be booked at Reward rates.
The award chart below includes the one-way prices of award flights operated by Saudia at both Reward and Reward+ rates:

AlFursan Miles Award Chart for Upgrades on Saudia
In addition to booking award flights on Saudia, you can use Saudia miles to book cabin class upgrades on Saudia-operated flights. In order to book an upgrade award on Saudia, you must already have a paid seat on a Saudia flight. Flights booked as “Saver” tickets, special fare tickets, free tickets and discounted tickets are not eligible for upgrade awards.
Currently, you can only use upgrade awards to upgrade to the next highest cabin class. For instance, you can only upgrade from economy class to business class and not from economy class to first class. Additionally, the mileage required for an upgrade depends on whether you booked your original ticket at a Basic, Semi-Flex or Flex rate (as the following award chart will reflect).
Here is the award chart for upgrade awards on Saudia-operated flights:
Zones | Upgrade Guest to Business From Guest “Basic” to Business (100%) | Upgrade Guest to Business From Guest “Semi-Flex” to Business (75%) | Upgrade Guest to Business From Guest “Flex” to Business (50%) | Upgrade Business to First From Business “Basic” to First (100%) | Upgrade Business to First From Business “Semi-Flex” to First (75%) | Upgrade Business to First From Business “Flex” to First (50%) |

At the moment, the Saudia AlFursan program doesn’t allow members to purchase upgrades on partner flights with Saudia miles.
The Bottom Line
If you’re a U.S.-based traveler, the Saudia AlFursan Miles program probably won’t be your most-used frequent flyer program. This program isn’t a transfer partner of any of the major transferable credit card rewards programs (such as American Express Membership Rewards or Chase Ultimate Rewards). So, if you want to earn Saudia miles, you’ll probably have to credit flights on Saudia or another Star Alliance airline to this program.
However, if you can rack up a balance of Saudia miles, you can find some high-value redemptions through the AlFursan Miles program. Unlike many other frequent flyer programs that have begun pricing their awards using dynamic pricing models, the AlFursan Miles program continues to use fixed zone-based award charts to price its own flight awards and partner flight awards.
This means that you can still find outsized-value redemptions through the AlFursan Miles program (with value exceeding 1 cent per mile). If you want to identify these sweet spots, a good place to start is by examining the award charts listed above.
