KrisFlyer, the frequent-flyer program of Singapore Airlines, has long been a fan-favorite among points and miles enthusiasts, largely due to its position as a member of Star Alliance, favorable award charts and affordable round-the-world awards.
Unfortunately, the KrisFlyer program has discontinued round-the-world awards, which was a major blow to the award travel community. Regardless, Singapore KrisFlyer has a lot to offer as it still uses fixed zone-based award charts to price its own flights as well as partner flights.
If you want to earn KrisFlyer miles, you can do so by flying with Singapore Airlines or one of its airline partners, renting cars, booking hotel stays, buying merchandise and more. However, for most of our readers, the best way to boost your KrisFlyer miles balance is by transferring points from credit card companies as the program is a transfer partner of American Express Membership Rewards, Capital One Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards and Citi ThankYou Rewards (all at a 1:1 ratio).
There are also many ways to redeem KrisFlyer miles from booking hotel stays to shopping online. However, if you want to maximize the value you get out of your KrisFlyer miles, the best way to do so is by redeeming them for award flights on Singapore Airlines or one of its airline partners.

KrisFlyer Award Chart for Flights on Singapore Airlines
Singapore Airlines has two types of awards: Advantage and Saver. While Advantage awards require more miles, they’re available in greater quantity and thus easier to find. Saver awards, on the other hand, require fewer miles and are more rare.
Both Advantage and Saver awards are priced according to their own zone-based award charts. To find the award price of your desired flight, you must first decide whether you’re looking for an Advantage or Saver award. Then, consider which cabin class you’ll be flying in (economy, premium economy, business or first/suite). To make these award charts easier to read, we’ve divided Singapore Airlines’ master award chart into separate award charts for each cabin class.
Once you find the correct award chart for your type of award and your desired cabin class, you can find the price of your award by cross-referencing your zone of departure with your zone of arrival. The following table includes the geographic regions included in each zone.

All Singapore Airlines award charts include the prices of one-way award flights. If you want to know the price of a round-trip award, you can simply double the one-way price. All values included in the following award charts are expressed in thousands.
It’s also worth noting that when you buy a Singapore Airlines-operated award flight through the KrisFlyer program, you’re entitled to add complimentary stopovers of up to 30 days. The chart below shows how many stopovers you can add to your itinerary depending on the type of award flight you purchase:

Singapore Airlines Saver Award Charts
Saver awards have less availability compared to Advantage awards, which means they’re harder to find. However, they also require fewer miles than Advantage awards. As you can see, through the KrisFlyer program, you can only book Malaysia Airlines flights between Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and London and between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. The award prices listed above are for one-way travel. The price of a round-trip award itinerary is double the price of a one-way itinerary.
Other Airline Partners
It’s possible to book award flights with several other non-Star Alliance partners, including Air France and JetBlue, through the Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer program. However, award charts for these partners aren’t published online. So, to find the prices of award flights operated by these partners, you’ll need to search for them manually through the Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer website.

KrisFlyer Award Chart for Upgrades on Singapore Airlines
Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles can be used to upgrade your cabin class on Singapore Airlines-operated flights. To redeem KrisFlyer miles for an upgrade on a Singapore Airlines flight, you must have an existing booking on Singapore Airlines.
Just like with Singapore Airlines award flights, the award rate of an upgrade is based on whether you’re booking a Saver award or an Advantage award as well as your zone of origin and zone of arrival. And, of course, the award price of an upgrade also depends on your original booking class and the class that you’re upgrading to.
It’s worth noting that upgrades from economy class (both Economy Standard and Economy Flexi) to premium economy class can be booked at Saver rates only. By contrast, upgrades from economy class to business class, from premium economy class to business class, and from business class to suites/first class can all be booked at both Saver and Advantage rates.
Although they’re harder to find, you should try to book Saver awards whenever possible as they require fewer miles.

KrisFlyer Award Chart for Upgrades on Star Alliance
KrisFlyer miles can also be used to purchase upgrades from economy class to business class and from business class to first class on most Star Alliance partner airlines. The only Star Alliance airlines that don’t allow you to purchase upgrades with KrisFlyer miles are Air India, Copa Airlines and South African Airways.
It’s worth noting that carrier-specific taxes, surcharges and fees may be applicable when redeeming KrisFlyer miles for upgrades on Star Alliance partners.

Unfortunately, at the current time, the Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer program doesn’t allow you to use KrisFlyer miles to purchase flight upgrades on non-Star Alliance partners.
