Flying Blue is the frequent flyer program of both Air France and Dutch airline KLM, both of which are members of SkyTeam Alliance. This program is also used as the default frequent flyer program of Aircalin, Kenya Airways, Transavia and TAROM.
Through this program, members can earn rewards miles by flying on either of the aforementioned airlines, any other member of SkyTeam Alliance and several other airline partners. You can earn Flying Blue miles in a wide variety of other ways, including booking hotel stays, transferring points from any of the major credit card rewards programs, shopping online, purchasing concert tickets and much more.
There are several ways to spend Flying Blue miles, from purchasing experiences (such as bike tours through Paris) to buying merchandise through the Flying Blue store. However, if you want to maximize the value of your Flying Blue miles, the best redemption method is definitely to purchase award flights, whether on Flying Blue, KLM or one of its partner airlines.
Unfortunately, following an overall trend in the frequent flyer industry, the Flying Blue program now uses a dynamic pricing model to price all of its award flights, which means that award prices tend to correlate with cash prices. This means it’s harder to find high-value awards than it was in the days when Flying Blue used a fixed award chart to price its award flights.
Nonetheless, Flying Blue is still one of the best frequent flyer programs out there, and you can definitely find solid value if you’re fairly flexible with your travel dates. And, while all award flights through the Flying Blue program are priced dynamically, the program still publishes an award chart that shows the minimum award rates for Air France- and KLM-operated award flights. We’ve provided this award chart below.
Flying Blue Award Chart for Air France and KLM Flight Awards (Minimum Levels)
All award flights available through the Flying Blue program are subject to dynamic pricing. However, the program does publish a zone-based award chart with the minimum award rates for flights operated by Air France or KLM. Of course, actual award rates are typically higher than the ones included in this award chart. However, this chart can give you a good idea of the minimum you can expect to pay on each route.
Here’s the award chart that includes the minimum rates for award flights operated by either Air France or KLM:

The rates listed in the award chart above are the minimum prices for one-way award flights. If you want to know the minimum rate for a round-trip award flight, simply double the applicable value from the award chart above.
It’s worth noting that, although the Flying Blue program often charges more miles for award flights than the rates listed in the chart above, it is often possible to find award flights on Air France and KLM that are available at these minimum rates. And, typically, when you can find award flights at these minimum rates, you can get solid value for your miles.
Flying Blue Award Rates for Partner Awards
In addition to redeeming Flying Blue miles for award flights on Air France and KLM, you can also use Flying Blue miles to book flights on partner airlines. Here is the current list of partners with which you can can book flights using Flying Blue miles:

Through the Flying Blue program, all award flights operated by one of the airlines listed above are priced using a dynamic pricing model. Unfortunately, unlike with Air France- and KLM-operated award flights, there’s no award chart that shows the minimum prices of partner-operated award flights.
So, if you want to know the price of a partner-operated award flight through the Flying Blue program, you’ll have to search for it manually through the Flying Blue website.
The Bottom Line
Just like many other frequent flyer programs these days, the Flying Blue program prices all award flights using a dynamic pricing model, which means that award flight rates will follow cash rates pretty closely.
However, it is still possible to find good value for award flights through the Flying Blue program, particularly when you’re able to find Air France- and KLM-operated award flights at their minimum rates (which we’ve provided in the award chart above).
Unfortunately, no such award chart exists for partner award flights (which are also priced dynamically) available through the Flying Blue program. So, if you wish to know the price of a partner award flight, you’ll have to just search for it through the Flying Blue website.
