Asiana Airlines is a South Korean airline operating routes all over Asia and to the United States. The airline has its own frequent flyer program, known as Asiana Club, through which you can earn miles in many ways, including flying on Asiana Airlines or any of its Star Alliance partners.

When it comes to redeeming Asiana Club miles, one major advantage is that award flights operated by both Asiana Airlines and its airline partners are priced according to fixed, region-based award charts. That means that it’s possible to find award flight redemptions that offer outsized value, unlike with other frequent flyer programs that have begun pricing their award flights using dynamic pricing models.

Asiana Club miles can also be used to book upgrade awards on flights operated by both Asiana Airlines and airline partners, as well as to book Star Alliance Round The World award itineraries, which can include flights operated by any Star Alliance airline.

In this article, we’re going to include all of the award charts for the Asiana Airlines Asiana Club program, so that you can easily reference them and find the redemptions that offer the best value.

Asiana Club Award Chart for Flights on Asiana Airlines

Of course, Asiana Club miles can be used to book award flights operated by Asiana Airlines. These award flights are priced according to a region-based award chart. The following table lists which geographic areas are included in each region:

The prices of Asiana Airlines award flights also vary based on whether they occur during low season or high-peak season.

The following table includes the high-peak dates for the year 2025:

Flight Type2025 High-Peak Dates

If an award flight occurs on one of the high-peak dates listed above, then it will cost 50% more miles than its equivalent low season flight. For instance, if a certain Asiana Airlines-operated award flight costs 10,000 miles on a low season date, it will cost 15,000 miles on a high-peak season date.

If a date is not included in the table above, then that date is considered a low season date and all Asiana Airlines-operated award flights on that date will be priced according to the values in the following award chart.

The following award chart includes the prices of round-trip Asiana Airlines-operated award flights for adults during low season:

Unlike with Asiana-operated award flights, the prices of partner-operated award flights don’t fluctuate based on seasonality.

These award charts are divided by their location of origin. To use these award charts, find the chart that corresponds with your desired departure location. Then, within that chart, find your desired destination and your desired cabin class.

For any partner-operated, round-trip award itineraries that include a sector between Incheon International Airport and New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Honolulu, Sydney, Melbourne, Frankfurt, London, Paris, Rome, Venice, Barcelona or Istanbul, you’ll be charged an additional 10,000 miles on top of the rate listed in the award chart.

  • Travel must continue in one direction (either east to west or west to east.)
  • The itinerary must include flights across both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.
  • There must be at least 10 days between the date of initial departure and the final date of arrival.
  • Traveling through the initial departing city is not permitted.
  • Up to seven stopovers are allowed throughout the entire itinerary.
  • Up to two stopovers are allowed within the same country.

The Asiana Club program offers a flat rate for all economy class Round The World itineraries and another flat rate for all business class Round The World itineraries. Depending on the specific flights included in your itinerary, the value of these awards can vary significantly.

The required mileage for Round The World itineraries are 140,000 for Economy class and 230,000 for Business class.

Asiana Club Award Chart for Upgrade Awards on Asiana Airlines

In addition to booking award flights with Asiana Airlines, you can also use Asiana Club miles to upgrade your class of service on Asiana Airlines-operated flights. Upgrade awards on Asiana Airlines are priced according to a region-based award chart.

The price of Asiana Airlines upgrade awards is also affected by whether the flight occurs during low season or high-peak season. If a flight occurs during high-peak season, the upgrade award will cost 50% more than the rate listed in the award chart below. The high-peak dates for Asiana Airlines upgrade awards are the same as the high-peak dates for Asiana Airlines-operated award flights.

You can view both the regions table and the seasonality table for Asiana Airlines award flights and upgrade awards in the “Asiana Club Award Chart for Flights on Asiana Airlines” section above.

The full adult mileage rate applies to unaccompanied minors requesting upgrades on domestic or international Asiana Airlines flights.

Asiana Club Award Charts for Upgrade Awards on Star Alliance Airlines

Asiana Club members can also redeem their miles for upgrade awards on all Star Alliance airlines, except Air India. You can’t use Asiana Club miles for upgrade awards on Asiana Airlines’ non-Star Alliance partner, Etihad Airways.

In order to qualify for an upgrade award on a Star Alliance flight, you must have already purchased a ticket for that flight and apply for the upgrade award at least three days before that flight’s departure.

Additionally, you may only upgrade to the next higher class of service. For instance, if your original booking was for economy class, you can only upgrade to business class. You can’t upgrade from economy class to first class.

Each upgrade award is valid for a cabin class upgrade on one sector. So, if you have an itinerary with multiple sectors (for instance, from Seoul to Chicago with a layover in Tokyo) and you want to upgrade your entire flight itinerary, you’d have to purchase an upgrade award for Seoul to Tokyo and Tokyo to Chicago.

The regions used for these award charts are the same as those used for the award charts for partner award flights. To see which geographic areas are included in each region, refer to the table in the “Asiana Club Award Charts for Flights on Partner Airlines” section above.

The Bottom Line

As one of the remaining frequent flyer programs that continues to use region-based award charts to price award flights and upgrade awards, the Asiana Club program offers the opportunity to find outsized-value redemptions.

This program also offers Star Alliance Round The World awards for 140,000 miles in economy class and 230,000 miles in business class, regardless of what flights your itinerary includes. So, if you plan your trip correctly, you can get a ton of value for your Asiana Club miles with these redemptions.

Unfortunately, the major drawback of the Asiana Airlines Asiana Club program is that it’s not a transfer partner of any of the major credit card rewards programs, such as American Express Membership Rewards or Chase Ultimate Rewards, which makes Asiana miles a difficult currency to earn.

Nonetheless, if you’re able to earn a balance of Asiana miles by flying with Star Alliance airlines or through some other means, you can definitely find some sweet spots in the award charts listed above.
