Wide open availability to Tokyo (NRT/HND) from across the U.S. (LAX, SFO, DFW, ORD, JFK, BOS) between July and December 2025 in economy. This is flying direct on American Airlines or Japan Airlines, booking directly through American Airlines for 35,000 points per person.
If you don’t have American Airlines miles, you can still take advantage of this deal by booking through other Oneworld partners like British Airways. British Airways follows a distanced-based award chart. Prices, if booked through British Airways, are below (priced per person one way):
- SFO, LAX to/from Tokyo = 25,750
- ORD, DFW to/from Tokyo = 31,000
- JFK, BOS to/from Tokyo = 36,250
British Airways is a transfer partner of Chase, AMEX, Capital One, Bilt, and Wells Fargo. If you wanted to use Citi points, you would need to transfer to Qatar first then transfer from Qatar to British Airways.
All of the dates below have confirmed availability for at least 2 passengers in economy through American Airlines. Some dates also have availability in Premium Economy. Expect to pay $5- 45 per person each way in taxes. Availability may vary between airline programs.
