The Big Picture

We found availability to the Caribbean, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and Puerto Rico this winter for as cheap as 9,000 points per person roundtrip non-stop in economy. This is flying American Airlines booking through Alaska Airlines with routes between MIA and SXM, AUA, PUJ, MBJ, SDQ, and SJU. 

Examples of routes (priced per person one way):

  • MIA to/from MBJ = 4,500
  • MIA to/from SXM, AUA, PUJ, SDQ, SJU = 7,500

Alaska Airlines is now more accessible for those with AMEX or Bilt points. While direct transfers to Alaska Airlines aren’t available, you can transfer points from AMEX or Bilt to Hawaiian Airlines, and then from Hawaiian Airlines to Alaska Airlines. If you don’t have either of these currencies, you may be able to book these AA flights through other OneWorld partners like British Airways or Qantas.

All of the dates below have confirmed availability for at least 2 passengers.  Expect taxes to be ~$20-100 per person each way.
