American Express Centurion Lounges

One of the more family-friendly lounge networks in the world is the American Express Centurion Lounge network. These lounges can be found in airports around North America, Oceania, Asia and South America. Many of these Centurion Lounges around the world offer family rooms, which feature frosted-glass walls and soundproofing, which means that your children can be as loud as they want without disturbing any of the other patrons of the lounge.

Perhaps the best feature of Amex Centurion lounges is that some locations offer complimentary access for children of cardholders under the age of 17 (such as at the Centurion Lounges in Sydney and Melbourne). At other locations, children between the ages of 2 and 17 will be charged a reduced guest fee and children under the age of 2 can enter for free. Since July 8, 2026, guests must be traveling on the same flight as the Platinum cardmember.

American Airlines Admirals Club Lounges

American Airlines Admirals Club Lounges are also known for having family-friendly areas, such as movie theatre-style rooms that are a big hit with kids. Plus, these lounges have generous entry policies when it comes to kids.

For instance, if you purchase a one-day pass to an Admirals Club lounge (which are available for $79 or 7,900 AAdvantage miles at certain Admirals Club locations), you’re allowed to bring up to three children under the age of 18 if they have a boarding pass on your same flight. This is a pretty good deal if you’re a parent traveling with three kids, since you could easily spend more than $79 on food and drinks for four people in the airport terminal. Unfortunately, if you’re traveling with your spouse, you may need to buy a one-day pass for them.

If you access the Admirals Club Lounge with an eligible American Airlines co-branded credit card, such as the Citi® / AAdvantage® Executive World Elite Mastercard®, you can bring up to two guests into the lounge with you (including family members). Those accessing Admirals Club lounges with a qualifying first- or business-class ticket or with AAdvantage elite status are allowed to bring one guest.

When accessing a The Club-operated lounge with a Priority Pass membership, any children under the age of 2 may enter for free.

So, if you’re traveling with a child and a spouse and have this particular membership, you’ll be able to get everyone into The Club lounge for free. And, for most individuals, the best way to get access to these lounges is to sign up for  Platinum Card from American Express. This card has a high annual fee. However, by using this card’s lounge access perks and other travel benefits, you can easily offset its annual fee year after year.

As mentioned before, this card offers complimentary unlimited access to Centurion Lounges for the primary cardholder with the option to bring guests between the ages of 2 and 17 for a reduced fee and to bring adult guests for regular fee. The Amex Platinum card also offers complimentary access to Priority Pass lounges, Plaza Premium lounges, Escape Lounges and Delta SkyClub lounges (10 visits annually when booked on an eligible Delta flight). Most of these other lounges allow you to bring two complimentary guests with you.

The Chase Sapphire Reserve card will get you unlimited complimentary access to Chase Sapphire Lounges around the world for yourself and up to two guests. And, while Chase Sapphire Lounges aren’t known for being specifically geared toward families, they are some of the nicest lounges in the U.S., with high-class amenities and gourmet eats.
