Our Take
First thing to know: You have to be a U.S. Bank Customer to apply (mortgage, checking/savings account, etc.). Which eliminates it for a lot of people. For that reason we have it lower in the rankings than it otherwise would be.
U.S. Bank’s premium travel credit card, the U.S. Bank Altitude® Reserve Visa Infinite® Card comes with a handful of great perks and a generous bonus offer. Priority Pass Select Membership, a $325 annual travel credit, PreCheck/Global Entry application fee credit, no foreign transaction fees, and more. But note that the Priority Pass membership offered by this card only allows eight complimentary visits per year.
The points are easy to use but can’t be transferred to airline and hotel partners. Altitude Reserve points can be redeemed for any travel expenses at 1.5 cents per point.
Overall, we would describe this card as “sneaky” (in a bad way). To a layman this looks like any other premium travel card. But when you dig deeper you find that it has many exceptions such as 1) more restrictive lounge access 2) restrictions on who can apply for the card and 3) no transfer partners.
