American Express just announced extensive updates to their consumer and business Platinum card credits and benefits. Both The Business Platinum Card® from American Express and The Platinum Card® from American Express have new annual fees which could be offset by a host of new and refreshed statement credits and benefits.

Here’s a breakdown of the card updates.

Changes for The Platinum Card® from American Express

The personal version of the Platinum card has the following updates:

  • Annual Fee increases from $695 to $895 (effective Jan 2, 2026 for existing cardmembers, see rates & fees)
  • Fine Hotels and Resorts and The Hotel Collection hotel credit increases from up to $200 to up to $600 and is now bi-annual (up to $300 Jan-June, up to $300 July-Dec, it counts when the hotel is booked and prepaid, not when the stay occurs)
  • Digital Entertainment credit increases from $240 to up to $300 (monthly credit of increases from $20 to up to $25)
  • New “limited-edition” mirror design. You can request the new design in the “Account Services” area in your account.

New for the personal card:

  • Up to $400 Resy credit (up to $100/quarter including dining purchases at Resy restaurants)
  • Up to $300 Lululemon shopping credit (up to $75/quarter)
  • Up to $200 Oura Ring credit
  • $120 Uber One credit (covers membership fee, it is separate from Uber Cash benefit)
  • Leaders Club Sterling status from Leading Hotels of the World (enrollment required)
  • Other benefits remain the same.

Changes for The Business Platinum Card® from American Express

The business version of the Platinum card has the following changes:

  • Annual Fee increases from $695 to $895 (effective Dec 2, 2025 for existing cardmembers, see rates & fees)
  • Employee card increases from $350 to $400
  • Adobe credit changes from $150/year to $250 credit after spending $600 (this was previously announced)
  • Dell credit changes from biannual $200 credit to annual $150 credit and $1,000 credit after spending $5,000 (this was previously announced)
  • Earning rates have changed from 1.5X to 2X on: U.S. cloud service and software providers, U.S. construction materials and hardware suppliers, U.S. electronics retailers, U.S. shipping providers, and purchases of $5,000 or more (up to up to $2 million in purchases per calendar year)
  • Pay with Points 35% points discount was changed from any airline in first or business class to any class tickets on your selected U.S. airline. (this was previously announced)
  • New “limited-edition” mirror design. You can request the new design in the “Account Services” area in your account.

New for the business card:

  • Up to $600 Fine Hotels and Resorts and The Hotel Collection hotel credit (up to $300 Jan-June, up to $300 July-Dec, it counts when the hotel is booked and prepaid, not when the stay occurs)
  • Big Spending credits – Spend $250k on eligible purchases in a calendar year on eligible purchases to unlock up to $1,200 on flights through the travel portal and up to $2,400 in statement credits for American Express One AP (accounts payable) payments
  • Leaders Club Sterling status from Leading Hotels of the World (enrollment required)
  • Other benefits remain the same.

Important Things to Remember

Many of these benefits require enrollment. Please make sure to enroll yourself before spending.

These benefits are active now. Take note of the quarterly benefits listed above, as Q3 ends on September 30.
