Cheap Economy Fares to Japan through Spring 2024

If Japan has been on your bucket list for a holiday trip/ ski season vacation or even hoping to see the infamous Cherry Blossoms bloom in spring, now is the time to book! There is wide open availability on direct flights from both Seattle and Honolulu to Tokyo for as low as 22,500 per person flying on Delta and booking through Virgin Atlantic between November 2023 and April 2024. 

Examples of routes in economy (priced per person one way)

• HNL to/from HND = 22,500
• SEA to/from HND= 27,500

If you have Chase points, there is a 30% transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic through Nov 15 bringing the price down to 17,400 per person one way from HNL or 21,200 per person one way from SEA!

While you can transfer directly from AMEX, Chase, Citi and Bilt directly to Virgin Atlantic, Capital One is actually only partners with Virgin Red (not Virgin Atlantic). This is no problem as you can link your Virgin Red account to your Virgin Atlantic account, and then you will be able to book your flights on Virgin Atlantic using your Capital One points as usual.

To search on Virgin Atlantic, click the “Advanced search” option, and select show price in “Points”. If it will not let you select the show price in points option, change the “one way” box to “multi-city” and then back to “one way”.  It can be finicky, but this should allow you to select show price in points. All of the dates below have confirmed availability for at least 2 passengers with over 9 seats available on most days. Expect taxes to be around ~$6-45 per person each way.
