Alaska Airlines Atmos Rewards Award Booking Instructions

As of October 1, 2025, Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines have discontinued their own frequent flyer programs and launched a new joint frequent flyer program called Atmos Rewards. Any miles that you had in either the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan or Hawaiian Airlines HawaiianMiles program will be transferred to the new program at a 1:1 ratio. And members with elite status in either of these programs will retain their status with the new program.

The new Atmos Rewards program uses a series of distance-based award charts to price partner award flights as well as award flights operated by both Alaska and Hawaiian. That means that you can often find awards through the Atmos Rewards program that offer high value per point.

Likewise, Alaska Airlines is a member of Oneworld Alliance, which means you can book award flights with any Oneworld Alliance member airline through the Atmos Rewards program, including American Airlines, British Airways, Qatar Airways (including Qsuites business class) and more. Plus, the Atmos Rewards program allows you to redeem points with several other non-Oneworld airlines, including Aer Lingus, Korean Air and LATAM Airlines.

So, if you’re interested in making an award flight booking through Atmos Rewards, follow the step-by-step booking instructions in this article. Plus, we’ll also give you some tips on how to quickly earn Atmos Rewards points.

Joining Atmos Rewards

Before you start earning or redeeming points through Atmos Rewards, you’ll need to be a member of the program. So, if you haven’t yet done so, join the program by visiting either the Alaska Airlines or Hawaiian Airlines website and clicking on the account icon in the top-right corner of the homepage. Then, select the “Join Now” button from the drop-down menu that appears.

From there, you’ll be brought to an online form, where you’ll need to enter your account information, including your name, gender, date of birth, phone number, email address and mailing address. You’ll also need to create a password for your account.

Finally, you can click the “Join Atmos Rewards” button on the bottom of the page. You’ll then be redirected to your account page, where you’ll see your account number and points balance. We recommend writing down your account number somewhere that you’ll remember it. Having this number can be helpful if you need to recover your account for some reason.

How to Earn Atmos Rewards Points

Once you’re a member of the Atmos Rewards program, you can start earning points in a variety of different ways. The minimum required points for an award flight through the Atmos Rewards program is 4,500 (which is the required number of points for economy-class flights operated by Alaska or Hawaiian of less than 700 miles in distance). So, you’ll need at least that many points in your account before you can make an award flight redemption.

There are many ways to earn Atmos Rewards points, but not all of these ways are equally effective. So, in the following sections, we’re going to look at some of the best ways to quickly earn Atmos Rewards points.

Transfer Bilt Rewards Points

Perhaps the quickest way to earn Atmos Rewards points is to transfer Bilt Rewards points into the Atmos Rewards program at a 1:1 ratio. Bilt Rewards is the only major U.S. credit card rewards program that currently allows points transfer to the Atmos Rewards program. You can transfer your points to Atmos Rewards at a 1:1 ratio.

So, for example, if you were to transfer 50,000 Bilt Rewards points to the Atmos Rewards program, you’d instantly receive 50,000 Atmos Rewards points. However, we recommend identifying the award flight you want to purchase before making your transfer. These transfers are irreversible.

Atmos Rewards Co-Branded Credit Cards

Another effective way to earn Atmos Rewards points is to sign up for an Atmos Rewards co-branded credit card, which will allow you to earn Atmos Rewards points on everyday purchases. There are currently three Atmos Rewards co-branded credit cards available: two personal cards and, for business owners, one business card.

All three of these co-branded credit cards offer welcome bonuses of tens of thousands of Atmos Rewards points. Plus, you can earn Atmos Rewards points on every purchase you make and even earn elevated spending bonuses in select categories. The following table includes the spending bonuses offered by each of these co-branded credit cards (as well as their annual fees):

It’s also worth noting that all three Atmos Rewards credit cards earn 10% more bonus points if you have an eligible Bank of America account. So, for instance, if you had an eligible Bank of America account, the Summit card would effectively earn 3.3X points on dining purchases and purchases with Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines and 1.1X points on all other purchases.

Over time, this 10% bonus can add up to a ton of points. So, if you have a Atmos Rewards credit card, you might want to consider opening an eligible account with Bank of America just to get this bonus.

Flying with Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines and Partner Airlines

Another effective way to earn points with the Atmos Rewards is to take paid flights with Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines or one of the program’s partner airlines. When taking a flight on either Alaska Airlines or Hawaiian Airlines that was booked through the Alaska Airlines website, that flight will earn points according to the following table:

The Atmos Rewards program also allows members to earn points with partner airlines. And, since Alaska Airlines is a member of Oneworld Alliance, Atmos Rewards members can earn points with any Oneworld Alliance partner flight. Here’s the current roster of Oneworld Alliance airlines:

When booking a flight with any of these partner airlines through the Alaska Airlines website, that flight will earn points according to the following table:

If you book a partner flight through a partner’s website, then your flight will earn Atmos Rewards points according to the following chart:

As you can see, you’ll earn significantly fewer points when booking partner flights through partner websites. So, if you intend to credit a partner flight to the Atmos Rewards program, it’s much better to book that flight through the Alaska Airlines website.

Other Ways to Earn

There are several other ways to earn points with the Atmos Rewards program, including booking hotels, taking cruises, renting cars, shopping online, dining with restaurant partners and more. However, these other earning methods aren’t particularly effective.

Nonetheless, if you use the Atmos Rewards program as your primary frequent flyer program, it’s worth looking into these other earning methods so you can maximize your points earnings.

How to Book Award Flights Through Atmos Rewards

Once you’ve accumulated enough Atmos Rewards points to redeem for your desired award flight, you can start the process of booking your award by visiting either the Alaska Airlines or the Hawaiian Airlines website and sign in to your account. You can sign in using either an existing Mileage Plan or Hawaiian Miles account, regardless of which website you’re using. So, you can sign in to Atmos Rewards using your HawaiianMiles credentials through the Alaska Airlines website, or vice versa.

Once you’ve signed in to your account, you should be automatically returned to the homepage, where you can find the flight search box. To search for an award flight instead of a cash flight, you simply need to click the “Use points” checkbox.

Then, you can enter your flight details, including your flight type (round-trip, one-way or multi-city), your departure and arrival airports (and if you want to search for nearby airports), your travel dates and the number of passengers on your itinerary. Finally, you can click the “Search flights” button to conduct your search.

You’ll then be able to see a list of flight results that match your search query. You can see the departure and arrival times, operating airlines, required points and taxes and fees. If you wish to see more details about each result (including the flight duration), you can click on the “Details” button.

Additionally, you can click the “Seats” button in each flight result to view the seat map for that flight. The seat map may not be available for all flight options.

Flight results can be sorted by number of stops, price, duration, departure time and arrival time. You can also prioritize flights operated by Alaska Airlines or Hawaiian Airlines. You can filter results by the number of stops.

When you find a flight that suits your needs, you can simply click on the fare that you want to book to add it to your itinerary. Then, you can repeat this process for your return flight (if applicable).

Once you’ve selected all flights for your itinerary, you’ll be brought to a “Trip summary” page where you can see the flights you’ve selected. If everything looks good, you can click the “Add to cart” button in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

After that, you’ll be brought to your cart, where you can once again see the flights that have been added to your itinerary. You should then click the “Continue to checkout” button.

To complete your booking, you’ll need to enter personal information for any passengers on your itinerary, including your name, date of birth, email address, phone number, frequent flyer number and more.

And, finally, you’ll need to enter a payment method to cover any applicable taxes and fees. Once you’ve done so, you can confirm your booking. At this point, you’ll receive a confirmation number, which we recommend writing down somewhere you’ll remember it. You should also receive a confirmation email with this number.

Most bookings made with Atmos Rewards points can be cancelled up until the date of the flight and your points will be refunded in full. However, the Atmos Rewards program charges a $15 call center booking fee and a $12.50 partner award booking fee, which are nonrefundable. All other taxes and fees charged for award bookings are refundable and will be returned to the original form of payment.

The Bottom Line

The new Atmos Rewards program (the frequent flyer program of both Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines) is a frequent flyer program worth paying attention to. For one, this program still uses fixed distance-based starting rate award charts to price award flights, which is increasingly rare in an industry where most frequent flyer programs are switching to dynamic pricing models. Thus, you can often find high-value flight redemptions through Atmos Rewards.

Likewise, Atmos Rewards points can be redeemed for flights with a wide variety of airlines. In addition to flights with Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines, Atmos Rewards points can also be used to purchase flights with any Oneworld Alliance airline (including American Airlines and British Airways) and many non-Oneworld airlines (including Aer Lingus, Icelandair, Korean Air and Singapore Airlines).

Currently, though, the only major U.S. credit card rewards program that allows 1:1 transfers to the Atmos Rewards program is Bilt Rewards. However, there are currently three Atmos Rewards co-branded credit cards that allow you to earn points on everyday purchases, which may be worth signing up for if you fly with Alaska Airlines or Hawaiian Airlines often.
