We found direct flights to Europe between April and December 2025 for as cheap as 29,000 points per person non-stop in business. This is flying Virgin Atlantic between JFK/ BOS and LHR. If London is not your final destination, it would provide a central location for you to reposition affordably and efficiently within Europe.
If you have AMEX points, this deal just became even sweeter as there is a 40% transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic through Dec 31, lowering the price to 21,000 per person one way! To calculate the points needed after the bonus, divide the total points required by 1.4.
While you can transfer directly from Chase, AMEX, Chase, Citi and Bilt directly to Virgin Atlantic, Capital One is actually only partners with Virgin Red (not Virgin Atlantic). This is no problem as you can link your Virgin Red account to your Virgin Atlantic account, and then you will be able to book your flights on Virgin Atlantic using your Capital One points as usual.
Virgin Atlantic is known to hold award fares, so you are welcome to call Virgin Atlantic to hold the fare prior to transferring points.
