Capital One is set to redefine the airport lounge experience with the opening of its new culinary-focused Capital One Landing at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) on November 19th. This lounge provides travelers with a unique blend of comfort and gastronomy. The José Andrés Group, renowned for its innovative culinary approach, curates the menu. Here, travelers can savor authentic Spanish-style tapas alongside beers imported directly from Spain, caviar cones, and decadent Basque cheesecake. Positioned as a lounge-and-restaurant hybrid, Capital One Landing spans 5,500 square feet, featuring an elegant design inspired by Spanish interiors, complete with contemporary art and decorative paneling.
The venue serves both as a grab-and-go spot and a seated dining experience, catering to a range of preferences and time constraints.
Entrance to this section comes at a fee: Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card and Capital One Spark Miles for Business cardholders benefit from a discounted rate of $45, while Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card and Capital One Venture X Business cardholders enjoy complimentary access along with one guest. Non-cardholders or those without the requisite Capital One cards are charged $90 per visit.
Our Take
This new venture by Capital One addresses the evolving needs of frequent travelers who seek more than mere respite at airport lounges. By integrating José Andrés’ culinary expertise, Capital One Landing not only elevates the dining experience but also underscores the value of credit card benefits. This unique lounge concept is a great addition to the travel landscape.
For those passionate about maximizing points and enjoying premium experiences, the introduction of Capital One Landing is a reminder of the power of selecting the right card for your travel needs. By offering perks like complimentary lounge access for Venture X cardholders, Capital One is clearly pushing the envelope, not just in hospitality, but in demonstrating the true value of premium travel credit cards. In an environment where travelers constantly seek comfort and efficiency, this development highlights the essential role of credit card rewards in improving how we travel.
