Our Take

First thing to know: You have to be a U.S. Bank Customer to get this card. Which eliminates it for a lot of people.

U.S. Bank’s Premium travel credit card, the Altitude Reserve comes with a handful of great perks and a generous bonus offer. Priority Pass Select Membership, a $325 annual travel credit, $100 PreCheck/Global Entry credit, no foreign transaction fees, and more.

But note that the Priority Pass membership offered by this card only allows 8 complimentary visits per year.

The points are easy to use but can’t be transferred to airline and hotel partners. Altitude Reserve points can be redeemed for any travel expenses at 1.5 cents per point.

One major downside of this card is that you have to be a US Bank customer to apply (mortgage, checking/savings account, etc.). For that reason we have it lower in the rankings than it otherwise would be.

Overall I would describe this card as “sneaky” (in a bad way). To a layman this looks like any other premium travel card. But when you dig deeper you find that it has many exceptions such as 1) more restrictive lounge access 2) restrictions on who can apply for the card and 3) no transfer partners.
