Earning elite status with hotel loyalty programs entitles you to special on-site perks like early check-in, late checkout, complimentary breakfast and more. Unfortunately, to earn elite status with any of the major hotel rewards programs, you’ll probably have to complete many stays with a single hotel chain and spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on hotel bookings. However, if you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve® card or the Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ , you can access a similar suite of on-site perks by booking hotel stays through The Edit by Chase Travel℠, a Chase luxury hotel and resort collection.
Similar programs have been created by other credit card issuers, such as the American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts® collection or the Capital One Lifestyle Collection. But, The Edit by Chase Travel℠ was recently rebranded and revamped and now includes some very valuable perks at some of the finest hotels around the world.
So, if you’re already a Sapphire Reserve cardholder, this article will explain everything you need to know about The Edit by Chase Travel℠ and how to get the maximum value out of this feature of your card. If you aren’t a Sapphire Reserve cardmember, this is one more reason why you might want to sign up for one of the most popular premium credit cards in the U.S.
Unlocking Elite Hotel Perks Through the Edit by Chase Travel
Anyone with a Chase-branded credit card that earns Ultimate Rewards can access the Chase Travel℠ portal, which allows cardmembers to earn Chase Ultimate Rewards points at elevated rates for booking flights, hotels, experiences and more. However, only those with the Chase Sapphire Reserve or Sapphire Reserve for Business, Chase’s top-tier rewards credit cards with an annual fee of $795, can access The Edit by Chase Travel℠, a curated collection of luxury hotels at which Sapphire Reserve cardmembers are entitled to special elite-like benefits.

Program Overview and Eligibility
As mentioned above, you can only access The Edit by Chase Travel℠ if you are an active Chase Sapphire Reserve or Reserve for Business cardmember. In fact, if you visit the web address for The Edit by Chase Travel℠, you’ll see the phrase “Exclusively for Reserve cardmembers” right in the header.

However, you can also access The Edit by Chase Travel℠ if you’re a JPMorgan Reserve cardholder. The JPMorgan Reserve card (formerly known as the Chase Palladium card) is a card designed for high-net-worth individuals with a minimum of $10 million in assets managed by J. P. Morgan’s private bank.
So, if you have either of these cards, you’ll be able to sign in to the Chase Travel℠ portal and access The Edit to book stays with the premium hotels and resorts that are part of this collection.
Core Benefits Package
Eligible cardmembers will not only have the ability to book stays with hotels and resorts that are part of The Edit collection, they will also receive special benefits at these hotels and resorts upon arrival. Here are the benefits that Sapphire Reserve and JPMorgan Reserve cardholders are entitled to when staying with The Edit collection hotels and resorts:
- Daily breakfast for two
- Complimentary room upgrade at check-in (if available)
- $100 property credit (includes dining, spa or other activities at the property)
- Early check-in and late check-out (if available)
- Welcome amenity
- Complimentary Wi-Fi
As you might expect, the exact monetary value of these benefits depends on the hotel or resort where you’re staying. For example, at a certain property, the $100 property credit may be usable for a round of golf. However, if you aren’t a golfer, this property credit is essentially worthless.
Likewise, in some cases, you may be upgraded to a suite that costs hundreds of dollars more than your original room type upon arrival, which would make the complimentary upgrade benefit very valuable. Or there may be no available room upgrades during your stay and you have to stay in the room type that you originally booked, which would make this benefit worthless.
Luxury Properties and Benefits
The Edit by Chase Travel℠ includes luxury properties all around the world on every inhabited continent. These properties range from five-star hotels in the downtown districts of some of the world’s largest cities to beachfront villas on remote islands and everything in between.
Plus, when you add in the VIP benefits you’ll receive when booking through The Edit by Chase Travel℠, you’re guaranteed to have an enjoyable and memorable trip. Let’s take a look at some of the properties you can book with The Edit by Chase Travel℠.
Global Coverage and Partner Hotels
The Edit collection comprises over 1,000 distinctive Chase hotel partners all over the globe. While a Chase luxury hotel collection list has never been released including all of the properties included in The Edit, you can visit the Chase Travel℠ portal and search for whatever geographic region interests you to see if there are any properties in that region that are part of The Edit collection.
Of course, you can find properties that are part of The Edit collection all over the United States. For instance, if you’re a surfer, you may want to check out Alila Marea Beach Resort in Encinitas, California. This property is located just 30 minutes north of San Diego and is perched on a coastal bluff. This resort includes complimentary high-quality surfboard rentals for all guests.

If you’re interested in visiting Asia, you may want to consider booking the Four Seasons Koh Samui through The Edit by Chase Travel℠. This resort is situated on the beaches of one of Thailand’s most beautiful islands and includes private villas, each of which is equipped with its own private pool.

If the European continent is calling your name, you may want to look into booking Hotel Neri, located in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona. This hotel is located in a quaint neighborhood and has an insiders-only vibe.
If you’re looking for a hotel in Africa from which to kick off your safari, the One&Only Cape Town might be the perfect option. This hotel is a short walk from some of Cape Town’s finest attractions, like the V&A Waterfront and the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art. And, if you’re into fine dining, this hotel includes the only Nobu restaurant in Africa.
One of the best properties in The Edit collection in South America is Miraflores Park, A Belmond Hotel, Lima. Located in Peru’s capital city, this hotel has several incredible on-site restaurants, the perfect introduction to Lima’s world-famous culinary scene.

As you can see, you can find The Edit collection properties all over the world.
Standout Luxury Destinations
Chase also publishes feature properties, which represent the highest level of luxury among Chase Reserve hotels in The Edit collection. To give you a sense of the type of experiences you can access through The Edit by Chase Travel℠, let’s take a look at the current featured properties.
Ritz Paris
Probably the most famous hotel in the iconic city of Paris, France, the Ritz Paris is the pinnacle of refined luxury. The rooms include elegant features like marble fireplaces, elaborate mirrors, floor-to-ceiling windows, private balconies and more. This hotel also includes a world-class spa that offers massages, beauty treatments, swimming, nutrition and fitness consultations, floral body rituals and much more.
However, one of the most impressive features of the Ritz Paris is its on-site dining, including Michelin-starred restaurant Espadan, which is situated in the hotel’s Grand Jardin and offers seven-course preset-menu dining at dinnertime.

Nayara Tented Camp
Located in the cloud forest of La Fortuna, Costa Rica with the dramatic backdrop of Arenal volcano, Nayra Tented Camp allows you to experience top-tier luxury while also connecting with the surrounding natural environment. While the rooms at Nayara Tented Camp are referred to as “tents,” they’re really more like luxury villas, many of which have their own private pools.
Nayara Tented Camp is a great destination for travelers looking for adventure. Guests at this property can organize kayaking, rock climbing and whitewater rafting trips if they’re looking for some adrenaline-pumping fun. Or, you can take a hike through the nearby lava fields or rainforests and observe the incredible wildlife of Arenal National Park.

The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort
If your idea of the perfect vacation is lounging on the beach in the Caribbean, there’s no better destination than The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. There are a variety of room types at this location, some of which come with private pools, courtyards and balconies. But, no matter which room you stay in, you’re guaranteed to be just steps from the ocean.
Aside from relaxing on the beach, there are a ton of other activities to do at The Ocean Club, including private catamaran charters, boat tours to the iconic Pig Beach, snorkeling excursions, rounds of golf, poolside yoga and pilates, deep sea fishing and much more. And, between activities or relaxation sessions, you can enjoy meals designed by world-class chefs at one of The Ocean Club’s on-site restaurants.
How to Book Through the Chase Travel Portal
Now that you’re familiar with the benefits included in The Edit by Chase Travel℠ and the types of properties in this portfolio, let’s look at the actual process of booking stays with The Edit by Chase Travel℠.
Booking stays with The Edit is essentially the same as booking any other stay through Chase Travel℠. However, if this process is unfamiliar to you, feel free to reference the step-by-step guide that follows.
Booking Process
To begin the process, you’ll need to visit the Chase Travel℠ portal and log in with your username and password.

After you’ve logged in, select the “Stays” option and enter your desired destination, travel dates and number of guests. Then, click the search button to see all available hotel stays that match your criteria.

Any results that are part of The Edit collection will be denoted with a special grey badge, signifying that you’ll be entitled to The Edit benefits if you book a stay at that location. You should see The Edit hotels displayed on the top of the search results.
Once you find the property you want, click on that property and proceed to select your room type. When you’ve done so, proceed to the checkout page and select whether you’d like to pay with Chase Ultimate Rewards points, with cash or with a combination of the two.
Chase Sapphire Reserve or the Sapphire Reserve for Business cardholders get Points Boost, exclusive value for Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Reserve for Business. Points Boost allows Sapphire Reserve cardmembers to redeem Ultimate Rewards points at a rate of up to 2x on The Edit by Chase Travel hotels.
When checking in to your hotel or resort, you should inform a concierge that you made your booking through The Edit by Chase Travel℠ so they can provide you with your special perks (including having breakfast prepared for you each morning, providing you with your welcome amenity, allowing early check-in and/or late checkout and informing you how you can use your $100 property credit).

Maximizing Your Chase Edit Benefits
There are some strategies to maximize the value of the benefits you’ll receive when booking with The Edit collection that you’ll want to be aware of.
Booking Strategies
Although the value per Chase point you’ll get through the Chase Travel℠ portal is fixed, we still recommend booking your hotel stay through The Edit on off-peak dates. Cash prices (and prices with Chase Ultimate Rewards points) are much lower during off-peak season. And, in most cases, the experience and amenities that you’ll receive at a hotel or resort will be virtually the same during off-peak season as during peak season. Plus, it’ll be less crowded.
Each hotel and resort in The Edit by Chase Travel℠ has its own schedule of peak and off-peak dates. These dates largely depend on where each property is located and the peak tourism season in that area.
In general, by booking your stay with The Edit during off-peak times, you can get an equally luxurious experience at a discounted price.
Cost-Value Analysis of Chase Travel Benefits
The Edit by Chase Travel℠ cash hotel stay bookings made through the Chase Travel℠ portal earn 8X points.
It’s also important to note that, when booking stays with The Edit, you can earn hotel points in addition to the Chase points that you’ll earn for your booking. In contrast, when booking stays through Chase Travel℠ that aren’t part of The Edit, you typically won’t also be able to earn hotel points.
You also need to consider whether you can earn hotel points on your booking. If the property you’re staying at is part of a major hotel rewards program, such as Marriott Bonvoy or Wyndham Rewards, you should be able to earn hotel points for your stay. If the property is an independent hotel that’s not part of a major brand, you most likely won’t be able to earn hotel points.
Some Chase cardholders have also reported that nightly cash rates through The Edit can be considerably higher than when you book through other avenues (such as through Marriott’s website or through a third-party booking engine like Booking.com or Expedia, for example). So, before you book through The Edit, you’ll definitely want to compare prices for the same stay across other platforms.
Chase Luxury Hotel Collection vs. Competitors
As you may already know, Chase isn’t the only credit card issuer that has its own luxury hotel collection at which certain cardmembers can receive special perks. In fact, many of the other major U.S. issuers have very similar programs.
Let’s take a look at these other luxury hotel collections and how they compare to The Edit by Chase Travel℠.
Comparing Other Luxury Hotel Programs
The other luxury hotel programs offered by U.S. credit card issuers include American Express’s Fine Hotels + Resorts and The Hotel Collection, Capital One’s Lifestyle Collection and Premier Collection and Citi Hotel Collection.
In comparing these luxury hotel programs, we’ll look at which credit cards give you access to each program, whether there’s a minimum stay duration, the benefits included with each collection, whether there’s a reimbursement credit that can apply to bookings with each collection and whether you can use points to book with each collection and the value you’ll get for those award bookings.
American Express The Hotel Collection
The following table includes all of the most important information about American Express’s The Hotel Collection.
Eligible credit cards | • American Express® Business Gold Card • American Express® Gold Card • American Express Centurion Card • American Express Centurion Card for Business • American Express Corporate Platinum Card® • The Business Platinum Card® from American Express • The Platinum Card® from American Express |
Minimum stay duration | • Two nights |
Benefits included | • Complimentary room upgrade at check-in (if available) • $100 property credit (which can credit toward eligible charges such as food and beverage, spa or other on-property charges during your stay) • Early 12 p.m. check-in and late check-out (if available) |
Reimbursement credit | • Statement credits toward stays booked with The Hotel Collection with The Platinum Card® from American Express |
Book with points? | • Yes, at a value of 0.7 cents per point |
Unfortunately, when redeeming Amex points for stays with The Hotel Collection, you’ll get a fixed value of 0.7 cents per point. Since you can get much more value per point by redeeming Amex points in other ways, we generally recommend only making The Hotel Collection bookings with cash.
American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts
Amex has another hotel collection known as Fine Hotels + Resorts that’s more exclusive and luxurious than The Hotel Collection. The following table includes all of the most important information about this collection:
Eligible credit cards | • American Express Centurion Card • American Express Centurion Card for Business • American Express Corporate Platinum Card® • The Business Platinum Card® from American Express • The Platinum Card® from American Express |
Minimum stay duration | • No minimum stay requirement |
Benefits included | • Daily breakfast for two • Complimentary room upgrade at check-in (if available) • $100 property credit (which can credit toward eligible charges such as food and beverage, spa or other on-property charges during your stay) • Early 12 p.m. check-in (if available) • Guaranteed late check-out • Complimentary Wi-Fi |
Reimbursement credit | • Up to $200 in statement credits toward stays booked with Fine Hotels + Resorts with The Platinum Card® from American Express |
Book with points? | • Yes, at a value of 1 cent per point |

The Platinum Card® from American Express
You may be eligible for as high as 175,000

after you spend $8,000 in eligible purchases on your new Card in your first 6 months of Card Membership. Welcome offers vary and you may not be eligible for an offer. Apply to know if you’re approved and find out your exact welcome offer amount – all with no credit score impact. If you’re approved and choose to accept the Card, your score may be impacted.
Annual Fee:
$895
The main differences between the benefits included with The Hotel Collection and Fine Hotels + Resorts is that Fine Hotels + Resorts bookings include complimentary breakfast for two, guaranteed late checkout and complimentary Wi-Fi. Plus, there’s no minimum stay requirement for Fine Hotels + Resorts, so you can make bookings for just one night.
While booking Fine Hotels + Resorts with points yields a slightly higher value of 1 cent per point, we still recommend saving those points to redeem through transfer partners and making your Fine Hotels + Resorts bookings with cash.
Capital One Lifestyle Collection
Capital One also offers two luxury hotel collections. Out of these two, the Lifestyle Collection is accessible to more cardholders. The following table includes the most important information about the Capital One Lifestyle Collection:
Eligible credit cards | • Capital One Spark Miles for Business Card • Capital One Spark Miles Select for Business Card • Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card • Capital One Venture X Business • Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card |
Minimum stay duration | • No minimum stay requirement |
Benefits included | • Complimentary room upgrade at check-in (if available) • $50 experience credit (which can be used toward food and beverages, room service or other activities) • Early check-in and late checkout (if available) • Complimentary Wi-Fi |
Reimbursement credit | • $300 annual hotel credit included with the Venture X and Venture X Business cards can be used toward Lifestyle Collection bookings |
Book with points? | • Yes, at a value of 1 cent per mile |
One great advantage of the Lifestyle Collection is that you don’t need a high-annual-fee credit card to access it. The Venture card has an annual fee of just $95, which you can offset by making just one booking with the Lifestyle Collection and taking advantage of these benefits. In contrast, to access The Edit by Chase Travel℠, you’ll need to pay a $795 annual fee for the Sapphire Reserve or Sapphire for Business cards. And, if you want to access one of Amex’s luxury hotel collections, you’ll need to pay an annual fee of at least $325 for the Amex Gold Card.
Of course, the Lifestyle Collection offers only $50 in on-site experience credits, whereas The Edit by Chase Travel℠ and the two Amex hotel collections both offer $100 in credits.
And, while you can get a value of 1 cent per mile by booking the Lifestyle Collection with miles, you can get much more value by using those miles with transfer partners. So, we generally recommend booking the Lifestyle Collection with cash and saving your miles.
Capital One Premier Collection
Capital One’s more exclusive luxury hotel collection is called the Premier Collection, which includes better benefits than the Lifestyle Collection. The following table includes all of the main features of the Premier Collection:
Eligible credit cards | • Capital One Venture X Business • Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card |
Minimum stay duration | • No minimum stay requirement |
Benefits included | • Daily breakfast for two • Complimentary room upgrade at check-in (if available) • $100 experience credit (which can be used toward food and beverages, room service or other activities) • Early check-in and late checkout (if available) • Complimentary Wi-Fi |
Reimbursement credit | • $300 annual hotel credit included with the Venture X and Venture X Business cards can be used toward Lifestyle Collection bookings |
Book with points? | • Yes, at a value of 1 cent per mile |
Capital One Venture X Business
Earn 150,000
Bonus Miles
once you spend $30,000 in the first 3 months from account opening
Annual Fee: $395
Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card
75,000
Venture Miles
after you spend $4,000 in purchases in the first 3 months.
Annual Fee: $395
As you can see, the main difference between the Lifestyle Collection and Premier Collection is that Premier Collection bookings include a $100 experience credit (compared to the $50 offered by the Lifestyle Collection) and daily breakfast for two. Plus, the Premier Collection can only be accessed by Venture X and Venture X Business cardholders.
Redeeming Capital One Miles for Premier Collection bookings will give you a fixed value of 1 cent per mile. So, once again, we recommend saving your miles and making these bookings with cash.
Citi Hotel Collection
Citi also has two of its own luxury hotel collections, the more accessible of which is called the Hotel Collection. The following table includes the most important information about the Citi Hotel Collection:
Eligible credit cards | • Any Citi credit card that earns ThankYou Points |
Minimum stay duration | • No minimum stay requirement |
Benefits included | • Daily breakfast for two • Early check-in and late checkout (if available) • Complimentary Wi-Fi |
Reimbursement credit | • $100 annual hotel credit (which is only available for bookings of $500 or more) included with Citi Strata Premier℠ Card that can be used toward Hotel Collection bookings • Fourth-night-free benefit included with Citi Prestige Card can be used for Hotel Collection bookings made through Citi Prestige Concierge service |
Book with points? | • Yes, at a value of 1 cent per mile |
Out of all of the luxury hotel collections mentioned in this article, the Citi Hotel Collection is the easiest to access. This collection is accessible even with Citi’s no-annual-fee cards like the Citi Custom Cash® Card or the Citi Double Cash® Card. With that being said, this collection doesn’t offer any property credit or complimentary room upgrades, making its benefits package considerably less valuable than the other collections mentioned.
Nonetheless, getting complimentary breakfast for two each morning of your stay can be a valuable perk, depending on the hotel you’re staying at.
And, once again, we’d recommend not using your Citi ThankYou Points to make Hotel Collection bookings if you have access to Citi’s transfer partners. You can get much more value per point through Citi’s transfer than the fixed 1 cent per point you’ll get for Hotel Collection bookings.

Citi Custom Cash® Card
$200
cash back
after you spend $1,500 on purchases in the first 6 months of account opening. This bonus offer will be fulfilled as 20,000 ThankYou® Points, which can be redeemed for $200 cash back.

Citi Double Cash® Card
$200
cash back
after you spend $1,500 on purchases in the first 6 months of account opening. This bonus offer will be fulfilled as 20,000 ThankYou® Points, which can be redeemed for $200 cash back.
The Reserve by Citi Travel®
Citi’s more exclusive hotel collection is known as the The Reserve by Citi Travel® and it includes improved benefits compared to Citi’s Hotel Collection. The following table includes all of the most important information about the Citi Luxury Collection:
Eligible credit cards | • Citi Prestige Card (no longer accepting new applicants) • Citi Strata Premier℠ Card • Citi Strata Elite℠ Card |
Minimum stay duration | • No minimum stay requirement |
Benefits included | • Daily breakfast for two • Complimentary room upgrade at check-in (if available) • $100 experience credit (which can be used on many on-property purchases ranging from food to spa treatments) • Early check-in and late checkout (if available) • Complimentary Wi-Fi |
Earn 60,000
bonus ThankYou® Points
after spending $4,000 in the first 3 months of account opening, redeemable for $600 in gift cards or travel rewards at thankyou.com.
Annual Fee: $95
The Reserve by Citi Travel®’s benefits offer very impressive value for a collection that’s accessible with a $95-annual-fee card. The Reserve by Citi Travel® can be accessed with the Citi Strata Premier℠ Card (which has a $95 annual fee) or the Citi Strata Elite℠ Card (annual fee is $595) and it offers nearly the exact same value as The Edit by Chase Travel℠ (which can only be accessed with the $795-annual-fee Chase Sapphire Reserve or Reserve for Business). So, if you’re looking for a card to access a luxury hotel collection, the Citi Strata Premier or the Strata Elite is a better option than one of the Chase Sapphire Reserve cards, ignoring all other aspects of these cards.
Citi Strata Elite cardholders get up to $300 annual hotel benefit via Citi Travel once per calendar year for a hotel stay of 2 nights or more when booked with Citi Travel.
And, again, you’re better off redeeming your Citi ThankYou Points through transfer partners than on The Reserve by Citi Travel®. You’ll get a fixed value of 1 cent per point when booking the The Reserve by Citi Travel®.
Seasonal Promotions and Special Offers
If you want to get maximum value on hotel stays booked through The Edit by Chase Travel℠, you should check to see if there are any seasonal promotions or special offers available at the time of booking.
Historically, there haven’t been any special offers for bookings through The Edit specifically. However, there have been offers for bookings made through Chase Travel℠, which includes The Edit collection.
For example, in 2025, Chase was sending out targeted offers for 10,000 bonus points to certain Chase cardholders who make eligible bookings through Chase Travel℠. If you’re able to take advantage of a promotional offer like this one, you can get even more value out of booking through The Edit by Chase Travel℠.
Elevate Your Travel with Chase Luxury Hotel Benefits
The Edit by Chase Travel℠ is a portfolio of luxury hotels and resorts that’s accessible only to Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders. When booking through The Edit, you’ll be entitled to receive certain elite-like benefits, including a welcome amenity, a $100 property credit, a complimentary room upgrade (if available), early check-in and late checkout (if available) and more. So, not only will you be able to experience some of the world’s finest hotels and resorts, you’ll be treated like a VIP when you arrive.
If you already have the Chase Sapphire Reserve card and the price for The Edit hotels is the same as booking direct or through another hotel aggregator, such as booking.com, then it may be a good idea to book your next hotel stay through The Edit by Chase Travel℠. The benefits included with these stays can save you money and make your stay more comfortable.
New to the world of points and miles? The Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card is the best card to start with.
With a bonus of 75,000 bonus points after you spend $5,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening. , 5x points on travel booked through the Chase TravelSM Portal and 3x points on restaurants, streaming services, and online groceries (excluding Target, Walmart, and wholesale clubs), this card truly cannot be beat for getting started!
